Risk Assessment
Risk Assessment
Advert One: Free Kick Advert
Although it seems that running around on a field offers no major risk there were a few things we had to take into consideration when filming this advert. We had to choose a day where it hadn't rained so that the pitch wasn't slippy, this way there was a reducing risk of anyone falling over and injuring them.
At one point within the advert features a big tackle that earns a free kick. The risks with this are that the tackle could potentially go wrong and seriously injure the person being tackled. To get around this we used 3 different shots to make it look like the tackle was one fluent movement without the tackle actually taking place. This meant that the risk was successfully removed.
A slightly less severe risk is that the ball may hit someone in the face and break a nose, unlikely but a potential risk nevertheless. In an attempt to counter this we pre-planned where the shots were going to go beforehand, however, you can't precisely judge where the ball is going to go so this was a hard risk to control.
Another hard risk to control was theft. Being out in a public place with an expensive camera poses a risk of theft. Again this is highly unlikely but still a possible risk, there is no way we could really control this risk but instead used an empty field where no other people were around.
Advert Two: Kick Ups Advert
This advert took place in a different environment to the first one and used a changing room in a school. Because the advert was filmed in a small room and in a school most risks were already removed, there was no possibility of slipping because the floor was dry, and there was no possibility of theft because there were a number of CCTV cameras dotted around.
However, there was a risk of possible damage to school property if the ball was to fly off in a random direction. To counter this we removed everything of value from the room so all that was left were the four walls, benches and a bin. To control this further we used someone with experience in football. Along with some practice beforehand this meant that the ball was less likely to fly off and break something.
Sponsorship Advert
This advert was slightly more similar to the first but instead took place in a 5-a-side court with a concrete floor. If a player was to slip here the impact would be much greater than on grass. To make sure this didn't happen, the set up was pre-planned and practiced in an attempt to reduce this risk. All other risks such as the ball injuring someone and theft were controlled the same as advert 1.
